PokeSpire Hoenn guide

Hoenn is the region added the day the game released. Become Johto’s champion and it opens. If you had already beaten Johto when the devlog went up, it was already open.

What I checked

I read the Hoenn devlog and the public build on 2026-10-28. The devlog names 135 new Pokémon, the eight gyms, Steven, May, and weather. The build names the same leaders and adds teams.

There is no official Hoenn screenshot. The pictures on this page are the title screen and a Kanto battle. I am not calling either one a Hoenn map.

What the devlog adds

Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip are the starters. The devlog and the build both put the Hoenn dex at 135. Eight partners can be caught and later used as starters. Weather is the new rule: rain, sun, sand, and hail change damage, and some Pokémon appear only in one weather.

Events named only in the devlog: Team Magma, Team Aqua, the Weather Institute, Safari Zone, Mirage Tower, Slateport Market, and “rare visitors from the stars.” The devlog does not give floors for those events, so I will not invent them.

Steven, May, and the legends

Build-only Elite Four: Sidney (Mightyena, Shiftry, Cacturne, Absol), Phoebe (Dusclops, Banette, Sableye, Dusclops), Glacia (Glalie, Sealeo, Glalie, Walrein, in hail), Drake (Shelgon, Altaria, Flygon, Salamence). Steven uses Skarmory, Claydol, Aggron, Armaldo, and Metagross. May is the rival.

Latias and Latios roam and flee after 4 turns. Regirock, Regice, and Registeel are rare nodes. After Steven, Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza are catchable hidden fights. Beating Rayquaza adds a Shell Bell to later runs. The devlog and the build agree on those three.
